The Kairanga School Board of Trustees and Principal are very excited to announce that the Multi Sport Turf project can now begin! This is an exciting venture for us as we turn the current tennis court (adjacent to the carpark) into a fit for purpose turf for our school kids and the community to use. This project is supported by the Kairanga Community Centre who own the tennis court, and the Kairanga Lions who are going to provide valuable resources to ensure this turf is an amazing community venture.
The estimated cost of the project is $130,000 and to date we have received $25,000 in donations which is a fabulous start. We are now in the process of applying for grant funding and with the help of our amazing Home and School team, will start targeted fundraising specifically for this project.
One of our major fundraisers will be the erection of a sponsors board at the entrance to the new turf. Individuals, families and companies can purchase a board with their name and/or logo on it which will be displayed proudly on the fence. It would be wonderful to have a board for each family in the school, which will be a lasting memory for years to come!
We do understand however that this cost may not come at a convenient time for some families, so if having a board is something you are interested in but you are not in a position to contribute the full amount, please talk to James about how we can support you to make this happen
The turf will be a fantastic addition to our community and school and to make this happen, we need all the support we can muster. If you have any connections with local businesses who may be interested in corporate sponsorship, please pop into the office to collect a form or email homeandschool@kairanga.school.nz.
We are so very excited to finally be able to begin this project and know it will be a wonderful addition to the resources we are able to provide our Kairanga kids. Please keep an eye out for further information coming shortly.
